Planning a trip to the beautiful British Columbia? We just visited this month and it was a fall dream! So many leaves, gorgeous scenery, fun things to do and even better food. I’m here to give you ideas for making it special with your loved one or family. It was such a romantic destination for couples but they had SO much to do for kids and families too.
Our favorite place was Granville Island

This market on the waterfront truly has it all. From fresh local produce, meats and fish to a variety of delicious little food stands to try. The soups were out of this world, each included a breaded crust over the top. My husband and I shared the mushroom soup but I’d go back and try the chicken pot pie next time. So nice to enjoy by the water watching the boats pass by and this area was a fun shopping area as well.
We also really loved exploring Stanley Park

Highly reccomend taking a bike ride around the park and following the trails along the water. Such pretty scenery and things to see along the way! So nice to have a picnic enjoying the fall leaves and amazing crisp breeze.
We even stopped after our ride to check out the Totem Poles

Another gorgeous park to take in the views was Queen Elizabeth Park

A must when visiting this city is to check out the Gastown Steam Clock located in downtown. One of the only few in the world.

Such a sight to see! This old school steam clock which was built hundreds of years ago to provide heat to most of downtowns core which is still actively running today! We got to see it whistling and blowing out steam which happens every quarter hour. Don’t miss this must see historic part of the city!
Vancouver is known for its abundance of Orca Sightings that call their body of waters home. Whale Watching is always in season here.

We were lucky enough to witness multiple Orcas and humpback whales during our half day tour. They were all over in the Bay Area just right off the shore and it was such a dream to see up close. We encountered a family of 6 that has been recognized quite a bit that has been living in the area. The brother came right up to our boat to say hi and he was so beautiful and majestic in the water. Made my heart so happy to see them free in the wild where they belong. Any full or half day tour is a must because you will almost always get to see an Orca on the trip.
Our favorite restaurant was definitely the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant

We celebrated our anniversary dinner here and it was honestly one of the most amazing dining experiences we have had. This restaurant takes you up a very high elevator overlooking the entire city and brings you into a cozy lounge with a dining area that slowly rotates around the entire 360 view of Vancouver including views of the water, city lights and more. It was so special! The food was delicious too and they made sure to make our anniversary memorable.
We also loved dining at Frankie’s Italian Kitchen

We sipped yummy wine and enjoyed tasty apps along with authentic Italian dishes including our favorite pastas. So good! It’s also right across the street from the Canuck’s hockey stadium for a fun night life vibe and right next door they have a jazz bar for a fun night cap!
Our last night we enjoyed dining at Sand Bar Restaurant which was also super delicious! The mushroom pizza was such a hit.
We only had 2-3 days in the city or else we would have checked out more places especially a ferry ride to Victoria which was highly recommended and suspension bridge which we didn’t have time for!
